Posted almost 6 years ago by Cristi Day

Dear CBAPN Member,

The time is upon us again to give back through charitable donations to benefit the health of our communities.

Please take a look at the Coastal Bend Day of Giving website to recommend your favorite participating organization for a CBAPN gift.  Please let us know why you are recommending the organization.

The gifts are made possible through the CBAPN 2019 Fundraising event Achors Aweigh!!

Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation. Their mission is to "fill gaps in services that no other agency provides" in the Coastal Bend community. They offer a number of health services including "primary health care, mental health and substance abuse programs, infectious disease testing, education and linkage to treatment, and youth education to provide education on the dangers of drug use."

Timon's Ministries would also be a good option. They offer multiple health services to low income, elderly, and chronically ill individuals. I particularly like their slogan, "A hand up, not a handout."

These are excellent, Jennifer. In the past, we have also given to The Ark Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for Youth in the past. We toured their facility and they are doing great things for children. "The Ark's mission is to provide a caring intervention for abused, neglected and displaced children and youth, ages 0 through 17, by placing them in a secure environment."

CASA of the Coastal Bend is another good organization doing great things for children. "Our mission is to speak up for and find permanent homes for foster children in crisis throughout Nueces and Aransas Counties. Our vision is a world where every child who is abused and neglected is given the opportunity to thrive in a safe and loving forever home."

New Life Refuge Ministries-Mission "is to educate the community about child sex trafficking, to partner with other organizations in the fight against modern day slavery and to provide a refuge of hope and healing for child survivors." They educate the community and provide refuge for young children
