Volunteers Needed for COVID 19 Coastal Bend Area Clinic

Posted about 5 years ago by Ilaria (Lala) Reyes

ATTENTION ALL COASTAL BEND AREA PHYSICIANS AND ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDERS:  ACTION REQUESTED ---

-An area-wide Covid19 Clinic is being set up by Nueces County, Amistad Clinic, and other stakeholders, and it is set to open NEXT WEEK, Monday, August 3!  The Clinic needs volunteer providers for both virtual and in-person patient visits. Prompt outpatient care may prevent the progression of the disease, as well as help relieve the strain of local EDs and hospitals.

-We are asking for every provider in the region to donate two or more 3-hour shifts per month. Care is not difficult or lengthy. For those who request it, training in the outpatient care of Covid19 patients will be provided.

-Volunteer providers can sign up by replying to Dr. J. Stefan Walker, MD atccma.jstefanwalker@gmail.com.  SIGN UP TODAY.  Once we get your name and credentials, we will provide you with a website interface whereby you may sign up for shifts.  For those working on-site at the clinic, full PPE will be provided; for telehealth - the vast majority of care being provided - you may do so from home, assisted live by an MA who will be documenting the visit for you.

-Any licensed professional who plans to volunteer with this or other Covid19 efforts are welcomed to take an upcoming ACLS / BLS combined 2-day course provided free of charge by Driscoll Children’s Hospital, first-come, first-served basis. Sign up quickly, there are only 16 slots left for the first course August 7 & 8.  Live CME and CNE is available for this event! Those interested in CME should email Dr. Walker at ccma.jstefanwalker@gmail.com.

Please consider donating a few hours of your time to help our community!

Thank you for your time,

Your Coastal Bend APN Board
